Harnessing Audio To Promote Books: Open Culture & Amazon
Blog Open Culture, which provides a doorway to podcasts featuring various arts from literature to music, recently posted an informative article entitled “The Book World Goes Sensibly Digital” about new developments in the world of audio books. It seems traditional publishers are beginning to deal with audio in more realistic and innovative ways. One publisher has rushed out a teaser, low-cost audiobook well in advance of a forthcoming print version. Amazon is experimenting with various types of audio downloads to help build interest in particular authors and books.
The Open Culture website also offers an Audio Book Podcast Collection.
These are developments worth tracking.
