Samuel Dean at Web Worker Daily shares in his post late yesterday recommendations about five word processing tools he often uses. Included are Abiword and OpenOffice, which I’ve covered before, but he also identifies several that are new to me: Ecto, for posting to blogs; PagePlus, an impressive desktop publishing program, with both free and deeply-discounted full versions; and TextCrawler, which helps match up text strings across files.

I’ll certainly be checking these out. You will find Dean’s comments, along with links to the tools, HERE. The TextCrawler link actually takes you to a download site [my favorite one, as it turns out] listing a number of free word processing tools, including TextCrawler.
