When I decided to get really serious about my writing, I launched an obsessive campaign to learn as much as I could about the world of the writer. I also soon found that my own writing projects were running up against technical roadblocks and wished for tools to solve them.
I made lots of discoveries and tossed them into an outlining program to keep track of them. I became acutely aware that there is nowhere online or in print to conveniently find all this information. One day the outline, by now downright overwhelming, shouted out: create a website and organize it to facilitate access. Also, prepare a series of print-on-demand books that pull the information into a systematic presentation.
BECOMING A WRITER–SERIOUSLY is the result. As the weeks roll by, you will read about software tools, marketing tricks, business practices, learning oppotunities and much more. I suggest that you subscribe to this blog for an RSS feed to keep up-to-date. And keep an eye out for forthcoming reference books, frequently up-dated via print-on-demand.
