When placing an order with Amazon Books today, I discovered a new program which it offers. For selected books [now limited, but certain to grow], when one orders the printed book online, one can pay an additional $3.99 for an “upgrade” which allows one to access the book immediately online. The book is stored in one’s own “Media Library,” which one can access at any time. Moreover, one can bookmark pages within the online copy and highlight sentences and paragraphs.

For more information about Amazone Upgrade and the online Amazon Reader, check out this page.
