“Tools of Change” Conference Shakes Up Publishing
This week’s “Tools of Change for Publishing” Conference is the current talk of the publishing world. Organized by Web 2.0 guru Timothy O’Reilly, the conference attracted about 400 people, now on its second day. TOC is important enough that Publisher’s Weekly leads its online newsletter today with a report about the conference.
Each session emphasized the importance of digital media, as well as steps publishers and authors might take to join the revolution. Harper Collins CEO Brian Murray, for example, described innovations his company is pursuing, and author Chris Anderson spoke about the economics of giving his next book away for free.
