Since the brand new — and free — office suite Lotus Symphony is mentioned in the CNET review I posted this week, I thought it useful to follow up with more information about it.

Symphony is now in public beta, meaning it is still undergoing user testing. It is, however, creating interest among software hounds who look into anything new.  One of the best online forums for insight into software programs is DonationCoder. Here’s a link to the ongoing thread about Symphony.

Personally, I think this new suite will bear watching — it looks very promising, especially for new writers and students who cannot afford the steep price of Microsoft Office.
