There’s been a lot of coverage today of Amazon’s press conference unveiling the Kindle e-book reader. The best of all is the TechCrunch minute-by-minute diary of the press conference.

It presents Amazon CEO Bezos as he walks the audience through the features of the new reader, The details are fascinating indeed: this really is a path-breaking device. And it’s intriguing to see how Bezos sees this device as part of the evolution of the book.

Revealing too are the comments of those who have read the TechCrunch coverage, which reveal support and criticism of the Kindle.
