NEA Report: Americans Are Losing The Habit Of Reading Books

USA Today carries an alarming article about the newly released report by the National Endowment for the Arts:  Younger Americans do not read books.  We’ve heard such news before, but this report is the most comprehensive and therefore the most disturbing.   This is discouraging news for us writers, of course.  More significantly, the report suggests that the American public is becoming less informed and more shallow in its pursuit of entertainment.

Maybe Amazon’s Kindle will save America.  Let’s hope…
