While I use them frequently in the traditional pad form, I’ve never been a fan of “sticky notes” on my computer. Unneeded clutter, I’ve always thought. Just something else that needs to be organized.

I’ve learned that computer “stickies” can, in fact, be useful to writers, in ways that I’d never considered. Sticky notes go beyond the computer desktop. They can be attached to folders and even documents in progress — and that capability can be truly helpful.

I learned about this at Jonathan’s Tool Bar and Grill, which has become one of my favorite blogs. In fact, when I first discovered the blog, I spent hours going back through this “Archive” of posts. That’s how I found his take on “stickies.” It’s worth a read by writers especially.
