As many of you know, I follow the discount offerings at Bit du Jour and from time to time pass on to you advance notice about one-day deals of interest to writers.

This week the website offers The Journal, at $19.95, discounted from the normal cost of $39.95. You can download it immediately for evaluation, but the purchase must be made online on Friday only to get the discount.

This software is more than a diary, o so it claims. The homepage description makes it sound enticing for writers: The website even offers a useful how-to turorial that will help one evaluate the program. In fact, the developer’s website is one of the best I’ve encountered to help explain the software and its capabilities. The Journal also offers some add-ins that may be of interest.

Intriguing to me are the promises of organizing one’s thoughts and swift retrieval via a strong internal search engine. And it be useful especially to bloggers, as the program apparently can pass along selected entries.

I think the software may be worth a look. If anyone does so, please post your comments at the bottom of this post.
