Google has compiled a list of 107 blogs for writers that generate enough readership and activity to deserve its attention. That’s a lot of blogs, and they certainly cover the waterfront of writing. Each blog listing carries a short line, generated by Google, about the blog’s content. If you are thinking about establishing a blog related to writing, maybe even to promote your own writing career, you may wish to take a look at this list. Or maybe you’ll find a blog that speaks directly to your own writing interests.
You can view it by ranking, according to Google’s obtuse page rank system — or look at it in alphabetical order.
Becoming A Writer Seriously, by the way, ranks forty-fifth, thanks to our 5000-plus unique readers each month and 320-plus regular subscribers. Thanks, y’all.

Tracy, thanks. But of course I’m not yet satisfied! Gotta keep climbing.

The Open Directory Project was, at one time, one of the great advances of the Internet. Every entry was hand-selected and hand-written. Any site — in this case, even Google — could embed its content into their own. Great stuff.
There are some great blogs on that list, not least “Becoming a Writer Seriously”. But of the 20 or so I just checked out, only 3 or 4 had been updated in the last month; less than half had been updated since the beginning of the year. Maybe I made bad selections, but still — it looks like nobody is keeping track to see that these are still the blogs that someone searching this category would get the most use out of.
That said, I still made sure to add writerstechnology.com

Dustin, that’s interesting additional information. I myself noticed one blog near the top of the list which, I understand, has been defunct for months.
As you know, Google changed its ranking system some months ago, causing a bit of a storm among bloggers. No one seems to know the worth of Google rankings anymore.
Still, I found the Directory List useful in identifying a range of blogs that I have never run into before.
