More and more people are turning to “cloud computing” in one form or another. Some use web-based applications, others store all of their documents at an online repository. Some applications offer a combination of desktop apps, tied into “cloud services.”
In the word processing realm, Google Docs led the way. Microsoft has followed with Microsoft Live, which facilitates online document storage. Now Oracle has released a cloud service for Open Office, along with an Open Office upgrade, in an effort to compete head-to-head with Google and Microsoft.
Full details, along with explanatory video, are available at Oracle’s website.
