PDF to Word Converter: FREE on 26 January — and secret discount page

Jimmy White, one of this blog’s readers, has just passed along to me advance notice of a free giveaway of AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter, a software that can be very useful to writers. He picked up the rare advance notice about this giveaway from Online PR News [by the way, that's a service that writers themselves might turn to for their own announcements].

PDF to Word Converter normally costs $29.95. On 26 January only, the software will be available for free at Giveaway of the Day. Readers of this blog will already know that I have in the past picked up numerous software programs from GOTD, the acronym loyal followers of the site use. I’ll be picking up this software package as well. There’s a thorough and positive review of the software at How-To Geek.

Also, there’s a “secret” page at the AnyBizSoft website that, if I read it correctly, will give major discounts on some of its software to GOTD followers, even if they miss the January 26 free download day. PDF to Word, for example, will be available from the secret page for $9.95, a 66-percent discount. For sure, those discounts will not be available for long — but do check out the page if you miss the offering on the 26th. In fact, if you know that you will want to keep this software for the long haul, you may wish to pay the discounted price, rather than grab the freebie — the purchase route will protect you if you ever need to reinstall the software.

The AnyBizSoft website, by the way, offers quite a lot of resource information about the PDF format and how to handle it. Look for the “how-to” guides and tutorials, as well as other resources at the site. Valuable info for writers not well acquainted with this essential format.

ABOUT GOTD:

A few words about GOTD for those of you who don’t know this site. Most of the offerings there will not specifically appeal to writers, but occasionally an important deal comes along. I subscribe to the site’s daily email announcement, just so that I don’t miss something. It’s the first email I open every day. More recently, GAOTD makes a available another free software that alerts users to updates for software already installed on one’s computer — and that software includes a pop-up box that daily alerts me to the current Giveaway of the Day. Pop up haters may not like this software — but, for me, it’s the only pop-up notifier that I’ve approved on my computer.

Another hint about GAOTD: if your computer crashes, you cannot re-install software acquired via GOTD. You either must purchase it, or just wait until it is once again offered for free on GOTD. Some of the software I’ve discovered via GOTD has been so useful that I’ve bought those programs following a hard-disk crash.
